Start with one shortcut
Area, window, full screen, previous area and timed capture. All-in-one capture (⇧⌘1, or Ctrl+Shift+1 on Windows) lets you press Tab to switch modes once you're in.
Frame it precisely
A crosshair and pixel magnifier show coordinates and the color value, with window snapping, arrow-key nudging and Shift to lock the aspect ratio. You can also freeze the screen first and take your time.
Ready the moment you capture
The floating thumbnail lets you copy, save, edit or pin, or drag the capture straight into another app. Several stack up and dismiss themselves after a while.
Annotation editor
Crop, arrows, lines, rectangles, ellipses, text (with IME support), pencil, highlighter, counters, pixelate and blur, spotlight and a color picker, with undo and redo. Save as a .qshot project to edit again later.
Pins
Pin a capture on top of everything else: zoom it, change its opacity, make it click-through, and even select the text on it. Pin several at once.
Text recognition
Select an area and copy the recognized text right away; you can select text in the editor and in pins too. It uses the text recognition built into your system.
Scrolling capture
Scroll automatically or by hand, with live stitching and detection of sticky headers and footers. Auto-scroll needs Accessibility permission.
Recording and GIF
Record an area, a window or the full screen to MP4, with system audio and microphone, cursor, clicks and keystrokes shown, and a countdown. Trim the start and end afterwards, or export a GIF.
Local history
Capture history is stored on your computer and kept for 30 days by default. Re-edit, copy or delete any capture.

Frequently asked questions
- Which systems are supported?
- Available for Mac now; Windows is coming soon. The Mac version needs macOS 14 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon; Intel Macs are not supported.
- What are the default shortcuts?
- All-in-one capture is ⇧⌘1 (Ctrl+Shift+1 on Windows) and area capture is ⇧⌘2 (Ctrl+Shift+2 on Windows). Everything else is unassigned by default and can be recorded under Settings › Shortcuts.
- Which permissions does it need on a Mac?
- Capturing and recording need Screen & System Audio Recording. Accessibility, Input Monitoring and Microphone are requested only when you use auto-scroll in scrolling capture, show keystrokes in recordings, or record the microphone.
- What if a shortcut clashes with another capture tool?
- When two apps use the same combination, both respond. Change it in QuickShot or in the other app.
- Can one license cover both Mac and Windows?
- A license isn't tied to a platform; it only counts computers. Only the Mac version has been released so far, and the Windows version is not yet available. Once it ships, the 1-computer plan will activate on one Mac or one Windows PC, and the 2-computer plan can be one Mac plus one Windows PC, or two of the same.
